“ The food is delicious and the Baklava is the perfect ending to the meal along with a Turkish coffee... ”
“ A local restaurant that I discovered with my family a few weeks ago. Beef or lamb gyro(i don't remember name)is amazing. I tried the chicken gyro here for the first time and I definitely recommend it with tzatziki sauce. It's a great idea to serve pita bread with the hummus! The baklava was the best dessert I've ever had Good service , small but good family business, I recommend. Sweet atmosphere, handmade food ”
“ 14 Dec 2024: ordered the humus and the chicken curry platter and the baklava ($5.65) but the plate of baklava fell on the floor. Enjoyed the humus and chicken platter. ”
“ Stopped by this spot on a whim and so glad I did! It was a sunny Autumn afternoon, I was in need of lunch, and I happened by Alaturco Gyro. Between the high ratings and the fact that I adore all things Mediterranean cuisine--it seemed like a perfect match. It was. I ordered their falafel sandwich and a side of dolmas. The sandwich was great. Everything tasted wonderfully fresh and the falafel was pitch perfect. It was a little clunky to eat but other than that, splendid. The dolmas were also delicious. Other than some bar height window seating, there's not much seating inside. It's definitely set up as more of a grab and go situation. Lucky for me, I was there on a gorgeous sunny day and was able enjoy my meal at one of their umbrella adorned sidewalk tables. The service was kind and their prices are reasonable. Get to it! ”
“ Don't get the Shawarma. Avoid that, and you'll have a four-star experience. The lamb was generous and tender, it was a plus to be able to substitute dolmas for the fries on the side, and tabboulleh was nicely garlicky. So what's wrong with the Shawarma? It's not grilled and is contained in what seems like a flour tortilla. To be fair, this is a gyro place so stick to that and you'll be fine. Service was quick for a weekday lunch, with a steady stream of locals into the small place. It's mostly for takeout, but there are a few seats looking out to the street. ”
“ If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would. Because coming here was an amazing experience for me. It wasn't just the food that was good, the hospitality, the ambiance, the desert, the entree, everything was amazing! It's a very small restaurant but has plenty of parking around the area and they have their own parking as well. I was surprised to see how cheap everything is. Considering in Albany you get similar food for way more. The service was amazing! The owner talked to us like we were a guest in his house and everything we ordered was freshly cooked. The seasoning, the warmth of the food, the sauce, the taste, everything was spot on!! And their Baklava was one of the best Baklava Ive ever had! And I had baklava in many other places including in NYC famous spots and this was on par with them. Im going to come here all the time because of how much I loved everything. ”
“ It's a rainy spring day so what am I craving? A lamb gyro from my favorite to go spot, Alaturco Gyro of course. This small yet cozy place is well kept and tidy. It does not have a lot of seating but that is not a deterrent if you want a great gyro. I stop in whenever I am in the mood for a gyro or falafel sandwich as it is consistently good. The portions are generous and is made to order as you watch the magic happen before your very eyes. No fillers whatsoever just lots of love put into your food order. My lamb gyro on pita was nicely wrapped and had a nice balance of salad greens and tomato along with a side of crispy shoe string fries. I also really appreciated the two small containers of creamy tzatziki like sauce with mint as I am a big fan of dressing. However I would like to point out that the lamb gyro was very moist and tender all by itself. I just happen to like my gyro sandwich drenched in saucy goodness! I really like coming here, because the two very sweet and kind ladies running the establishment take such pride in putting out great food. From the moment you place your order, you will not be disappointed as you will leave with your to go bag with a smile knowing that deliciousness awaits you. I highly recommend! ”
“ Small cafe with great food. Has ample parking off to the side with seating for 10 - 12 people total. I ordered to go and took back to my office. Lots of customers coming in and out so it seems they are a big take out and Door dash type place. Ambiance is very local feeling to Ballston Spa. Right off their main drag. ”
